General Information for Sandshark Swimmers & Parents
School Guidelines - Please Read!
Contract Deadline – Contracts are due by Wednesday, September 12th. New swimmers should attach a copy of a birth certificate. Returning swimmers contract will be in boxes once coaches determine witch group swimmer will be placed. New swimmers will receive contracts from the coaches when they are placed in their group. This is different than the passed that it gives coaches a couple weeks to asses groups and swimmers.
Drop Off, Pick Up & Parking – Please use the “enter” driveway when arriving and the “exit” when leaving the parking lot. Do not park your car in the circular portion of the driveway. This area is for quick drop offs and pick ups. Children and parents should enter the pool through the white tile area. Please do not enter or exit from the exterior double doors on the pool deck. All swim bags should be brought into the pool area when swimming. Non – O’Neal students may be in the locker rooms, white tile area or the pool. No sitting or climbing on the fencing in the parking area. Parents need to be on time when picking up their swimmers after practice.
Communication – The calendar (white dry-erase board) inside the pool shows all up-coming swim meets, holidays, team breaks and special events. The bulletin board outside the pool doors is used for swim meet sign ups and special event postings. A mailbox (folder) is established for each swim family after joining Sandsharks. This is located inside the pool doors in the blue file boxes. The mailbox should be checked daily. The web site www.sandshark.org should be read thoroughly for any changes or upcoming events. Please let your child’s coach know when your child will miss practice. If you need to speak with the coach, please do so before or after practice. You may also phone the Sandshark office at 692-5777.
Payments – All payments should be paid by check and inserted in the wooden payment box inside the pool.
Swim Gear – All swimmers should have a well fitting swim suit/jammer, swim cap and a couple pair of goggles. Our team vendor, Kastaway, will be here in September for suit fittings and will also have practice suits, goggles, caps and other goodies for purchase. The information will be out as soon as the date is confirmed. Hibbett’s in Pinecrest Plaza has a small selection of caps, goggles and suits.
Parents do not need to stay at the pool during practice. If staying, parents should sit on the blue benches along the side of the pool.
