Swim School Guidelines
Welcome to the Sandhills Sandsharks Swim School! For safety and efficiency, we have a few guidelines to follow:
- It is requested that parents do not sit by or interrupt their child’s class. There are benches beside the pool and picnic tables outside for your convenience.
- If a parent is asked to leave the pool deck, please do so. Sometimes a child will perform better when they do not have a parent to concentrate on.
- If you have any questions, please ask once the class is over. Interruptions during class often make it hard to re-start. We will make sure that after class a head teacher is available to answer any questions you may have.
- We suggest that you bring goggles to class. Our personal favorites are the Speedo Futurity Jr. Goggles or the Speedo Hydrospex Jr. goggles, available from www.kastawayswimwear.com for about $13.00. This may seem a bit pricey, but they are very high quality and will last for a long time.
- Please make sure swim suits will not fall off in the water. For girls, one-piece suits are suggested and for boys, suits without pockets that fit snugly.
- Make sure your child goes to the bathroom before class. Bathrooms are out the double glass doors. Girls are to the left, boys are to the right.
- Registration and payments go in the wooden box with “SSS” lettered on it. It is inside the front doors on the right.
- Please do not enter or exit through the doors outside by the shallow end of the pool.
- Because our pool has no windows, classes will be canceled for thunderstorms only if they are distracting to the children.
- If classes consist of three students or less, teachers will either shorten the class to 30 minutes or combine it with a class at an earlier time.
